Before you start
- Never practice while driving, operating machinery, or in or near water. Breath-holding can cause lightheadedness without warning.
- Sit or lie down. Don't stand.
- If you feel dizzy, drop the hold — breathe four in, four out, and stop for the day.
- Talk to your doctor first if you are pregnant, or if you have a cardiovascular condition, a respiratory condition, epilepsy, or high blood pressure.
- This is a wellness practice, not medical treatment. It does not diagnose, treat, or cure anything, and it is not a substitute for care from a qualified clinician.
